Zoo means an establishment, whether stationary or mobile, where captive animals are kept for exhibition to the public [and includes a circus and rescue centres but does not include an establishment] of a licensed dealer in captive animals.
The Zoo Authority of Karnataka is registered under Societies Registration Act, 1960,
and functioning at Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Garden’s Premises, Mysuru. The following eight
Zoos recognised by the Central Zoo Authority were brought under the control of Zoo
Authority of Karnataka by a G.O. dated: 20-07-2002.
