Karnataka State Forest Industries Corporation (KSFIC)


The Karnataka State Forest Industries Corporation Limited (KSFIC Ltd.) was incorporated in the year 1973 with an authorized capital of Rs. 2.00 Crores (20,000 equity shares of Rs. 1,000/- each) and present authorized share capital is Rs. 3.00 Crores (30,000 equity shares of Rs. 1,000/- each). The capital so far invested by State Government is Rs. 115.53 lakhs. K.S.F.I.C. has two Subsidiary Companies Viz.,

The main objectives of the Corporation are:

  • Karnataka State Veneers Limted (Registered Office – Dandeli Factory – Kavachur)
  • Mysuru Match Company Limited, Shivamogga
The Corporation has been setup with the major objectives of undertaking Forest exploitation processing of Forest produce and their marketing as finished products, promoting new Forest Industries and creating employment at large in the Forest Industrial Sector of the State. One of the responsibilities of the corporation is to eliminate the role of Forest Contractors in the whole chain of logging operation in the State.

Logging Activities:

Logging operations have been taken by KSFIC with the objective to extract and salvage timber and firewood by reducing damages to the standing crop and regeneration and to introduce scientific exploitation of Forest besides eliminating middlemen. The logging coupes (Forest Areas / Plantation) handed over from the Forest department and other Public sector undertakings for exploitation during the period (including revitalization project works).
