Bengaluru circle is one of the oldest circles of Karnataka Forest Department with headquarters at Bengaluru. There are five territorial divisions, five social forestry (SF) divisions and one wildlife division in Bengaluru circle. The territorial divisions are Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural, Ramanagara, Kolar and Chickballapura divisions. The social forestry divisions are Bengaluru Urban SF, Bengaluru Rural SF, Ramanagar SF, Kolar SF and Chickballapura SF divisions. The wildlife division includes the Bannerghatta national park (BNP). The total extent of forest area in Bengaluru Circle is about 1,78,968.25 hectares which constitute about 11.22 of the geographical area of the circle.
