Kalaburagi circle occupies the northern most part of Karnataka state. It covers the revenue districts of Bidar, Kalaburagi, Raichur and Yadgir. The circle comprises four territorial forest divisions, namely, Bidar, Kalaburagi, Raichur and Yadgir divisions, and four social forestry divisions, namely, Bidar SF, Kalaburagi SF, Raichur SF and Yadgir SF divisions. Forests of Kalaburagi circle are primarily of scrub type with patches of dry mixed deciduous forests scattered in favourable localities of the circle. Some fairly good patches of dry deciduous forests are found in areas such as Chincholi in Kalaburagi division, Changler of Bidar division, Jalahalli-Kavital areas of Raichur division, etc.
