Bengaluru Urban division is situated on the southern portion of Karnataka. The division has about 2,000 ha of forest area. It has two sub-divisions, namely, Bengaluru North sub-division and Bengaluru South sub-division, and consists of five ranges, namely, Anekal, Bengaluru, K.R. Puram, Kaggalipura and Yelahanka. The forests of Bengaluru Urban division are of dry deciduous scrub type, and consist of species such as Chigare, Pachali, Bekke, Kakke, Kagali, Lantana, Bandarike, Jalari, etc.
