Karnataka has the highest Tiger population in the country. At present the Tiger population is estimated around 406+ as per the India Tiger estimate 2014 conducted by Ministry of Environment and Forests, Govt. of India. Tiger Reserves is headed by Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Project Tiger), Mysuru & Shivamogga.
