Get permission for Film Shooting Trekking in Forest area?

1) Who should be contacted to get permission for entering / trekking in National Park / Sanctuary?

The Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) and Chief Wildlife Warden or the jurisdictional Deputy Conservator of Forests in charge of the National Park / Sanctuary should be contacted to get permission for entering trekking in National Park / Sanctuary.

2) What are the grounds for which entry into National Park can be allowed?

The Chief Wildlife Warden may grant to any person a permit to enter or reside in a sanctuary for all or any of the following purposes, namely:-
  1. investigation or study of wildlife and purposes ancillary or incidental thereto
  2. Photography
  3. Scientific research
  4. Tourism
  5. Transaction of lawful business with any person residing in the sanctuary.

3) Who is exempted from requirement of permission for entry into sanctuary / National Park?

  1. a public servant on duty.
  2. a person who has been permitted by the Chief Wildlife Warden or the authorized officer to reside within the limits of the sanctuary.
  3. a person who has any right over immovable property within the limits of the sanctuary.
  4. dependants of the person referred to in clause (a), clause (b) or clause (c.)

4) What are the precautions to be taken within National Parks / Sanctuaries?

Every person, so long on he resides in the National Park / Sanctuary, be bound
  1. to prevent the commission, in the sanctuary, of an offence against this Act
  2. where there is reason to believe that any such offence against this Act has been committed in such sanctuary, to help in discovering and arresting the offender
  3. to report the death of any wild animal and to safeguard its remains until the Chief Wild Life Warden or the authorized officer takes charge thereof
  4. to extinguish any fire in such sanctuary of which he has knowledge or information and to prevent from spreading, by any lawful means in his power, any fire within the vicinity of such sanctuary of which he has knowledge or information and
  5. to assist any Forest Officer, Chief Wildlife Warden, Wild Life Warden or Policy officer demanding his aid for preventing the commission of any offence against this Act or in the investigation of any such offence.

5) Is these any fee for entry into National Park / Sanctuaries; provision for levying?

Yes, there is entry fee for National Park / Sanctuaries as per section 28 of wildlife (Protection) Act. The Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) and Chief Wildlife Ward determines the entry fee.
